Sunday 20th August – bike ***** Around Felixstowe including a picnic by
the River Deben – sunny periods.
After a full-on windsurfing session luckily, we woke to a sunny day with
much lighter winds, lazy start followed by exercises in the back garden,
never know it so peaceful and quiet, just lovely:) apparently there was a
football match on the TV! Mag chrysanthemums are looking great and I got a
few nice pics, the bees love them too before I backed a picnic. Being a
Sunday, we wanted somewhere away from the crowds so headed inland down
Marsh Lane to Kings Fleet, up on the River Deben sea wall, turning left we
cycled to the picnic tables at the water ski jetty. It was lovely just
watching the boats on the river and a Granddad and grandson spinning for
bass on the end of the jetty, they actually caught a small one while we
were there! After a restful yummy lunch, we decided to continue along the
river path spotting several egrets, a heron and a curlew before turning
left to Falkenham Church stopping to take some pics of another combine, in
fact we saw two working this afternoon! We had our cuppa with ‘Emily’
at Falkenham Church before taking our usual route via Kirton to Trimley,
and along the tree lined route, stopping to feed the rudd in the little
pond and home for a well-deserved cuppa and chocolate cake, what a top
weekend:)
